About the
Conference
Welcome to "ESJP 2026: Engineering, Human Systems, and Shared Futures", an international gathering hosted by the Innovation and Industrial Engineering Department at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, on October 29–31, 2026. ESJP 2026 brings together academics, practitioners, students, educators, community partners, and industry leaders to explore how engineering interacts with human systems such as education, work, mobility, water, and humanitarian contexts. Building on the vision of the Engineering, Social Justice, and Peace (ESJP) community, the conference promotes engineering practices that advance equity, inclusion, sustainability, and community empowerment. We seek to better understand the relationships between engineering and the social, cultural, economic, and environmental contexts that shape it, fostering dialogue on how engineering can support democratic, non-oppressive, and peaceful futures. Through academic dialogue, open participatory formats, and collaboration, the conference creates a space to reflect on how engineering can contribute to more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient shared futures across our current world and beyond.
